Advanced Solar Technology for Harsh Terrain
Horizon-XTR solar tracking system
Optimized for uneven land
Minimal environmental disruption
Improved energy yield

The Al Kahfah Solar PV Project is one of the most ambitious renewable energy developments in the Gulf, aimed at delivering 1,425 MW of solar capacity to Saudi Arabia’s grid. Located in the Eastern Province, this large-scale solar farm is a strategic part of the Kingdom’s National Renewable Energy Program, aligned with the Vision 2030 roadmap for sustainable energy transformation.
Jointly developed by ACWA Power and Badeel, with L&T serving as the EPC contractor, the project is built around cutting-edge solar tracker technology by Nextracker. The power produced will be sold to the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) under a long-term purchase agreement. With construction targeted for 2025 and full operation by 2026, Al Kahfah is set to significantly reduce reliance on fossil fuels and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s 50% renewable energy goal.
