The Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC) Solar Project is a large-scale renewable energy venture located in Al Wakrah, Qatar. With a planned capacity of 417 MW, the ground-mounted solar facility is being developed by QatarEnergy Renewable Solutions, a subsidiary of QatarEnergy that holds 100% ownership of the project. This initiative underscores Qatar’s national objective to diversify its energy sources and promote long-term sustainability.
Spanning over 4.9 km², the project will incorporate advanced solar technologies including PV modules supplied by JA Solar and Sungrow’s SG320HX inverters. Trina Solar is expected to provide high-performance single-axis trackers, ensuring optimal solar energy harvesting. Engineering, procurement, and construction will be managed by Samsung C&T, guaranteeing global standards and execution efficiency. The project is scheduled for commissioning in November 2024 and will contribute significantly to the region’s decarbonization efforts.
